Wash/Care Suggestions
Common Materials
1. Cotton
- Washing: Machine wash in warm water (30–40°C). Cotton can generally handle regular detergents and machine washing on a normal cycle.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low setting to avoid shrinkage, or air-dry to maintain fabric shape.
- Ironing: If wrinkled, cotton can be ironed on high heat.
2. Polyester
- Washing: Machine washable using warm water with an all-purpose detergent. Polyester is resilient but can be heat sensitive, so avoid high temperatures.
- Drying: Tumble dry on low heat. Remove before fully dry to avoid static cling. Fabric softeners can be used to reduce static.
3. Nylon
- Washing: Best washed in cold or warm water with a mild detergent. Avoid hot water as nylon is heat-sensitive and can lose shape.
- Drying: Air-drying is preferred. If using a dryer, choose a low heat setting. Avoid excessive heat, as nylon can melt or warp.
PU leather
Care for vegan leather (also known as faux leather or PU leather) is important to maintain its appearance and longevity.
1. Cleaning
- Frequency: Clean regularly to prevent dust and dirt buildup.
- Method: Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use mild soap mixed with water, applying it gently. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemical cleaners, as they can damage the surface.
- Drying: Always dry the surface with a clean, dry cloth to prevent water spots or discoloration.
2. Stain Removal
- Mild stains: Use a diluted soap solution and gently rub the area with a microfiber cloth.
- Stubborn stains: For oil or ink stains, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a cloth and gently dab the stain. Avoid scrubbing, as this can damage the surface.
3. Conditioning
- Products: Vegan leather does not need conditioning like real leather, but you can use specialized products designed for faux leather to keep it supple and prevent cracking. Avoid using regular leather conditioners, as they might be too harsh.
4. Storage
- Temperature: Store vegan leather items away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as prolonged exposure can cause fading or cracking.
- Humidity: Keep in a dry environment to avoid moisture damage. If stored in humid conditions, mildew may develop on the surface.
5. Avoid Sharp Objects
- Protection: Faux leather can be easily scratched, so avoid contact with sharp objects, and be mindful when wearing accessories like belts or bags with metal details that could scrape the surface.
6. Wrinkle Removal
- Method: If the surface wrinkles, use a low-heat setting on an iron, placing a cloth between the iron and the material to protect it from direct heat.
